The Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist order of monks dedicated to the creation and nurturing of peace throughout the world, the antiproliferation of nuclear weapons and the avoidance of war.

The members work for peace locally and worldwide by supporting initiatives consistent with their goal.

An example of their work is the "Mayors for Peace 2020 Vision Campaign". Initiated by the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it brings together towns and cities worldwide to discuss the abolition of nuclear arms by the year 2020.

General Anual Race Information:

There is no set fee to register.
We are asking all participants to simply give a meaningful
gift to support the Peace Pagoda and its endeavors.

Registration for both walkers and runners includes:
• a handmade origami peace crane
• a race t-shirt
• a gift certificate to Bueno Y Sano

Additional Information:

Starting times: Walkers at 9:00am and runners at 9:15am.

Parking: Visitor parking lot of the Peace Pagoda entrance on Cave Hill Road in Leverett, MA. Follow the signs to the parking areas.

Course: Scenic and hilly country roads, finishing with a long ascent to the Peace Pagoda on the top of the hill.

Festivities: All are welcome to the post-race festivities: enjoy the stunning temple, panoramic views, and a Bueno Y Sano burrito.
